Scripture Writing Plan for April 2020

Pink with blue lettering Write the Word

If you have followed me long enough you know I love to write and I especially love the practice of writing the word of God as part of my daily devotion.  I've written about the benefits of writing the word and I believe it is a practice that has enriched my devotion time with the Lord.

Being missionaries in Honduras chaos and disorder is nothing new. Since this pandemic started, and we have been confined to our homes, I started writing a scripture from the book of Psalms each day on an Instagram account of our youth ministry. I call it the promise of the day and it has a verse that they can claim and declare over their lives.  There are many ways to maintain calm in the chaos and I believe declaring God's promises is one of them.

As I was writing the promise of the day I thought I should make my own writing plan for April. Most of the scriptures are short so you can write them just once or write them a few times. They are promises of protection directly from the word of God.  I know that we all "know" that God is our protector and He is in control but it is good to take his word and speak those promises, pray those promises each day.

I hope you join me in writing these promises during this month of April. I also put together a worship playlist on Spotify if you want to listen to some great war room songs.  We will get through this by pressing deeper into God's presence.

  2. I love writing my devotions and sometimes, I add write my favorite verses too in modern calligraphy. It gets me excited to use art in my devotion. =) This pandemic, I had to look for another routine or timing when doing this when kids are home.
